Attorney John M. Urban; Retired: ​John M. Urban has been a sole practitioner and practicing attorney since 1976 in labor law, family law, tort law and specializing mainly in California workers' compensation law for the last 40 years in the Los Angeles area.  Mr. Urban also worked for the State Compensation Insurance Fund full-time for one full year before he went into private practice as a lawyer.  In addition, Mr. Urban has acted as a Pro Tem Judge for 30 years and has worked as a mediator in labor law matters.  

​Mr. Urban earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California in 1973.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School in 1976.  

​Martindale-Hubbell, a national company that rates the competence of all lawyers in every field of law nationwide has given Mr. Urban an AV-1 rating, their highest rating, consecutively for over 20 years.  Their rating is based on the opinion of the legal profession peers who know the attorney and his work.  

After over four decades of experience in the field of California Workers' Compensation Law, Attorney John M. Urban is happily retired as of December, 2020. His son, Attorney Martin M. Urban, continues to build upon the legacy of this more than four decades-old practice.

Attorney Martin M. Urban; Owner and Managing Attorney:  ​Martin M. Urban works primarily in the field of California workers' compensation law as an advocate for the injured worker.  Mr. Urban believes in a method of advocacy centered strongly on focusing on the client's goals and doing his best to make the client whole again; whether it be by fighting to get the client the benefits she or he is entitled to or getting the medical treatment he or she needs to get better.  Mr. Urban also believes in maintaining a strong channel of communication with his clients and in helping to guide the client through her or his claim, explaining the complexities of the California workers' compensation system at each step along the way, while at the same time listening to and focusing on the client's needs and concerns.  

Mr. Urban graduated from California State University Channel Islands with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2008.  In his undergraduate studies, Mr. Urban also studied political science and the German language abroad for two semesters at Eberhard Karls University of Tuebingen in Baden-Wuerttemburg, Germany before receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree.  He attended Southwestern Law School, earning his Juris Doctorate in 2013.   Before graduating law school, Mr. Urban interned for a semester at a Los Angeles-based law firm specializing in business law and commercial litigation.  

Since Mr. Urban's admission to the State Bar of California, he has been a member in good standing of the State Bar Workers' Compensation Section.
